Charlottenberg District

The Charlottenburg District is situated north of the famous Kurfürstendamm, one of Berlin's major shopping areas that developed in the West during the years that Berlin was divided. The Charlottenburg district has a number of famous landmarks, perhaps the best known being Schloss Charlottenburg, an elegant palace commisioned in 1695 by Queen Sophie Charlotte. This part of Berlin is also home to some fine bookshops, bars and restaurants, mainly around the Savignyplatz.

Grunewald
Grunewald is a municipal district of Berlin, part of the Charlotenburg-Wilmerdorf borough. The district developed out of a so-called "mansion colony" when the upper class of Berlin discovered Grunewald as an attractive site for living. It is one of Berlin’s most desirable suburbs where you can enjoy the convenience of being close to the city centre and ICC Berlin while remaining removed from the hustle and bustle in a peaceful green suburb.

Tiergarten District
Covering hundreds of acres in the centre of Berlin, from the central train station in the West to the Brandenburg Gate in the East the Tiergarten District is Berlin's answer to Central Park. Within this region there are a number of famous landmarks, attractions and hotels, including the famous Berlin Zoo (Zoological Garden), The Brandenburg Gate, The Reichstag and the Victory Column.

Mitte District
The Mitte District (central district) is one of Berlin's most celebrated districts and contains some of the city's most impressive landmarks, attractions and hotels. Before World War II the Mitte District was the wealthiest in the city; it contained the very core of Berlin's business, political and cultural life. After the war this once flourishing area was left in a very bad state of disrepair with many of the buildings being completely destroyed. The district came under the control of the East German Government and was rebuilt as the centre of the new East Berlin.
